When to go to United Arab Emirates

The climate is desert: summer (June-October) is scorching, with 40-50 degrees and very high humidity on the coast - poorly suited to outdoor tourism. The ideal period is October to April, when temperatures are pleasant (20-30 degrees by day). Rain is very rare. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a light layer for the heavily air-conditioned interiors.

Strict laws and local respect — In the UAE, Sharia applies even to non-Muslims (with varying flexibility from emirate to emirate)
Alcohol: strict rules — Alcohol is served only in licensed bars and restaurants (in hotels), for over-21s: drinking in public places is forbidden, and being visibly drunk is an offence (even just in transit)
